The documentary I decided to watch was Blackfish out of the list of decisions.  The film gave me many emotions throughout the documentary. I think this video will be a good one for our documentary project.

The Idea Of Being Mind Controlled

When people see and hear they react in different ways. In the video Making a Murderer the film showed a lot intense picture and sound that made the viewers truly believe who the real victim was in the documentary. The video played a huge impact on me making feel that Steven Avery, was the only victim and not looking at the other victims trying to understand the real story behind Steven Avery being accused. The video seems to make a one person point of view, with pictures of before he was in prison then later, to this video footage of an older man being locked up for years and aging within time. So, we get this picture in our head that he has aged and his life will never be the same. Music, was another huge part of the video everything seemed to be slow that makes you feel sad yet wondering how can this happen to someone. The video accomplishes a lot by making us as the viewers focus in on one thing and that being Steven Avery was prisoned for something he didn't do. Also, The people who accused him and sentenced him for all those years were let off without any punishment.

Making A Murder.....

Watching the first episode of "Making a Murder" made me have very mixed emotions. The part that surprised me the most was how the Manitowoc's County law enforcement was able to charge Steven with rape and trying to kill a woman named Penny Beerntsen after, she identified him as the attacker. One comment she said her attacker had brown eyes when clearly Steven had blue eyes. There was no real evidence proving Steven as the offender, Prosecutors and Sherif officers working the case still went on with what they started off with, knowing now that there is no turning back and they will make sure Steven is found guilty. The huge issue was the state was wrong for finding Steven as a suspect and convicting him for something he did not commit. Steven being in prison for over 18 years then being found not guilty causes a huge problem with the state and other police officers across the nation, making everyone think that any officials can get away from doing a huge mistake like this for a long time, and causing a problem with Stevens future for the rest of his life. Yet we have to look at, the Police are supposed to make sure we don't convict someone for something they didn't do and clearly from the beginning they should have looked into other suspects. Even, after the victim gave a different description about her offender, that doesn't even match Steven. Cases and documentation like this create Case Laws and benefits people so they can try and appeal cases for something that they have not committed. My favorite part of the video is how much clear evidence was given to prove Steven was not guilty. DNA showing that Gregory Allen was the one who committed the act proves that everybody accusing Steven was wrong, making it one of the best parts in the video.
